RV Roof Repair Cost Calculator

Roof work is the most common thing we do in Sebring and the most commonly deferred. This calculator prices it from the pricing page ranges: a reseal at $500 to $1,200, spot repairs, AC pan cleaning, and gaskets below that, and membrane or decking work at $2,000 to $3,000 and up.

The single biggest driver inside the reseal range is not rig value or roof material, it is how much failed sealant there is to dig out and clean. A 40-foot fifth wheel that has not been resealed in five years has several times the labor of a 24-foot trailer done two years ago. That is why length and last-reseal date are two of the four questions.

Why this matters more here than in a dry climate

Lap sealant is a flexible compound that bonds to the roof membrane along its edges. In Highlands County it rarely gets to dry out. The muggy season runs from late April to mid-November, July averages 79 percent humidity, and the roof takes about 52 inches of rain a year with more than half of it between June and September. Mildew grows along the edge of the bead where it meets the membrane, the edge lifts, and water is drawn underneath. The top of the bead can still look fine while the bottom has let go. Rigs that would go seven or eight years between reseals in a dry climate need attention every two to three years here.

The right month to do the work is April or May. Fresh sealant needs about 48 dry hours to cure, and once the June rains start a reseal is a gamble against the afternoon radar. The roof leak page covers how to find a leak you already have, and the roof repair service page covers what a proper reseal involves.

The leak that is not a roof leak

Before you price a reseal, check when the drip happens. Water on the bed under the air conditioner on a dry, humid afternoon is the AC condensate pan overflowing, not the roof. It is the cheapest option on this calculator for a reason, and it is the first thing we check on any leak call.

What the estimate cannot see

Soft decking. If the roof flexes underfoot, water has been in the structure long enough to reach the wood, and in a climate where the roof is wet from June to September that can happen in a single season. It is a different job with a different number. It is found by walking the roof, which is part of the trip fee, and you will be told before anything else happens. We do not reseal over wet decking and call it finished.

Send the estimate to the quote form and we will book the walk. The general repair calculator prices everything else on the rig.

Estimator

What will my RV roof work cost?

Four questions covering resealing, repairs, and the bigger membrane jobs. The ranges are the ones published on our pricing page.

Estimated range Typical Sebring pricing, before anyone visits

A reseal is $500 to $1,200 on the pricing page and membrane or decking work is $2,000 to $3,000 and up. Length and neglect are the two things that move a reseal inside its range, because both mean more joints to dig out and clean.

An estimate, not a quote. Soft decking is the one thing that changes a roof job completely, and it is found by walking the roof, not by looking at photos.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does an RV roof need resealing in Florida?

Every two to three years is realistic here, against seven or eight in a dry climate. Humidity and 52 inches of rain a year lift lap sealant from underneath long before the roof membrane fails, which is why resealing is maintenance rather than repair.

Why does rig length change the price so much?

Because the work is in the joints, and a 40-foot fifth wheel has far more seam, more vents, more penetrations, and usually two air conditioners. The sealant itself is a small part of the cost; digging out and cleaning the old, mildewed sealant properly is most of the labor.

What if the tech finds soft decking?

You get told before anything else happens, with an honest assessment of what it would take and whether it is worth it on your rig. We will not reseal over wet decking and call the job done, and we will not guess at the extent of rot without opening it up.

Is the inspection worth paying for?

If you do not know the roof's history, yes, particularly in April or May before the rains start in June. It is the cheapest line on this page and it is the difference between planning a reseal and discovering a leak in August.
